But do those days have to die? Does our walk have to be listless? Those who have seen their faith reanimated often cite a renewed perspective of God as the means to spiritual vibrancy. In other words, we grow when we once again are in awe of God.
On Sunday Andy referred to Deuteronomy 6, where we are told to talk about God, to think about Him, to contemplate Him as we go about our daily lives. Most people cannot talk about God for more than a short time, because they consider the topic boring. How can we be bored by God?! Consider this God! Think about His abilities! Who can measure His strength? Who can know His mind? Wonder about Him! Read His Word with curiosity, ask questions, wrestle with it, learn it, and allow it to show you who God really is! This is the God who invented water, turned it into wine, walked on it, was baptized in it, fished it, flooded the earth with it, parted it, commanded it, and shared it. This is the God who invented fire, spoke through it in a bush, saved men from it in a furnace, rained it down in judgment, sent it with a chariot, cooked breakfast with it, put it on display on a mountain, and is planning on using it to purify earth again! This is the God of the universe, the Creator of time, the Maker of life, the one who devised giraffe necks, peacock tails, hairless cats, duckbilled platypuses, blue whales, and lightning bugs!
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
"Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?"
"Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?"
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
